|
Cappriccieo M. Scates is Director of Operations for Precision Management Inc. / Mytrell Publishing BMI. His current responsibilities include, but are not limited to, musical operations, artist development, production/promotional budgets, studio usage, marketing campaigns, artist requirements, and show coordination.
At an early age, his family moved to California where he acquired his passion for music and eventually began playing drums for several church choirs. This passion would ultimately lead to his determination to learn the music business. Thus, he spent a great deal of time in and around recording studios. As a result, he learned to work a great deal of studio equipment in the process. He also developed an exceptional ear for notes, harmonies, and sounds. |
In 1986, he worked as an intern with John Harris at Steveland
Morris Music (Stevie Wonder's company). During that same year,
he took a brief turn at modeling, and was featured in Faces
International Magazine. This lead to him being selected to
perform in a group formally groomed by Total Experience Records
entitled the, “Fashion Boys.” In 1996, Mr. Scates
was independently contracted as Director of National Radio
Promotions for Ruffhouse Records where he worked with the
likes of the Fugees, Cypress Hill, and Kris Kross.
Mr. Scates completed his Associates Degree in Liberal Arts
at Saint Leo University and his Bachelor of Arts in Criminology
there as well. In addition, he holds a Masters Degree in Business
Administration from Averett University where he was selected
to the National Dean’s List for academic excellence.
He is currently a First Year Law School Student at Concord
University School of Law.
When asked for his best advice, Mr Scates states, "I
feel it is important to stay focused because I know it's possible
to do anything that you put your mind to. This is done through
nonstop work and determination. Always realize that your floor
is someone else’s ceiling, so be appreciative and thankful
for where you are, but never stop trying to humbly reach the
next floor.” |
